Sisterhood 2008/2009

Dear Sisters,
It’s that time again...time to join or renew your Sisterhood membership.  Sisterhood is planning a fabulous year of events for all ages.  We have plans for everything from the Ladies Night Out, Women’s Study Group, Annual Women’s Seder, and Book Club just to mention a few. Please take the time to join or renew your membership and join us as we begin this year.

Joining Sisterhood is something every woman at Temple Emanu - El should do!

Sisterhood is an integral part of Temple Emanu - El.  We help to support our congregation in numerous ways.  We are proud of our Judaica Shop, which is available for all of your B'nai Mitzvah needs as wells as baby gifts, hostess gifts, and house warming gifts.  The proceeds from the Judaica Shop go to support different events within the congregation.  Sisterhood has given scholarship money to individuals in need, and we are an organization that prides ourselves on helping the Rabbi or Cantor with their special projects when asked.   We host many congregational events, such as the annual family pool party and BBQ, Selichot dinner, and support in major fundraising efforts.  Therefore, when you join Sisterhood you are also supporting Temple Emanu-El!

Our Sisterhood is a part of an important national organization, Women of Reform Judaism and is committed to its goals. Even if you cannot actively participate, your membership will support our many important programs and projects.  Help us reach 100% Sisterhood membership by sending in your dues today 36% of the basic/Leah dues we pay supports WRJ and the Southeast District. Please visit womenofreformjudaism.org for more information. In order to do the best we can for our Sisterhood and meet our responsibilities please keep this mind when you choose your membership level as a greater percentage of our dues will remain within our organization.

Sisterhood is about connections and commitment to our congregation and community.

Join now to:

  • To make new friends or deepen the relationships you already have
  • For dynamic and exciting educational programs
  • For social events and just plain fun
  • To deepen your spirituality through special events
  • To develop your leadership skills while helping others

Remember that whether you are joining for the first time or renewing your membership, we appreciate your support. We need the support of every woman in the congregation. It is our sincere hope that every woman will join us. Whether you come to meetings, programs, help coordinate programs, or just submit your dues you are choosing to support Sisterhood. Your level of participation is up to you. Remember that a group of dynamic, warm, and inspired women await you however you choose to participate.

Women of Reform Judaism… Stronger Together!
