- Israel @ 60 Celebration at the JCC, commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the founding of the State of Israel. This is combining its past festival usually held in August.
Focus Groups
Celebrating the past and looking towards the future…As Temple Emanu-El celebrates its 30th birthday, this is the perfect opportunity to reflect upon where we have been and where we will go into the future. We invite you to participate in one of the many focus groups being conducted at Temple Emanu-El.
Help us discover:
- how we are strongest as a congregation
- ways that we can strengthen our community
- how to effectively provide interesting programs and activities
- how to best allocate our resources
- our ritual behaviors and standards
Your input is vital and enables us to continue to shape the congregation so that we all have a voice in our strategic planning process.
All we need now is YOU.

Jr. TEFTY

The Atlanta Jewish Times will publish free of charge the names of metro Atlanta Jewish students graduating from high school, college and graduate/professional school during the current academic year. The names will appear in a special edition, Simchas, to be published in mid-June. They will gladly publish a headshot-type photo along with the following information (listed in the order requested): For college/graduate students: Student’s name, school, major, honors and/or organizations, parents’ names and city of residence (specific metro Atlanta suburb), living grandparents and city of residence, and immediate future plans (e.g., job or graduate/professional school). For high school students: Student’s name, school, honors, parents’ names and city of residence (specific metro Atlanta suburb), living grandparents and city of residence, and immediate future plans (e.g., college or other academic program or job). Please do not send graduate information directly to the Atlanta Jewish Times. We require families to provide this information if they choose to be included. Belonging Everywhere Program
Temple Emanu-El, along with the Adult Education Committee of Congregation Or Hadash, is one of several Atlanta sponsors of a special diversity program being conducted at The Weber School Cafeteria, 6751 Roswell Road, at 7:30 pm on Tuesday, May 27. Led by Adam McKinney and Daniel Banks, Ph.D., the program seeks to uncover the struggle to stay connected to our heritages while participating in vibrant Jewish communities wherever we find them. It addresses key questions: can we belong everywhere; can we create communities that welcome all? A special film produced in Ghana in 2006 will be shown, "We are all One: The Jews of Sefwi Wiawso". The program is free and all are welcome.Caring Committee Honorees
The Caring Committee members will be honored during Shabbat Service on Saturday, May 31st at 10:00 AM. Following services the Caring Committee will have a private luncheon in the Social Hall at noon.Sisterhood
May 12 - 16 is Clergy and Staff Appreciation Week at Temple Emanu-El which is sponsored by Sisterhood. We will recognize each clergy and staff with treats all week to show our appreciation for all they do each day for the congregation.Women's Study Group
The next Women’s Study Group will be on Thursday, June 12th at noon. This meeting will follow the regular routine – bring your own lunch.

We're continuing through the summer and our next book is "A Change of Heart," by Jodi Piccoult. It will bring up some interesting issues to talk about. Brotherhood
Softball
Softball season begins in two weeks! Temple Emanu-El will be fielding two teams again this year. Practice is this Sunday, May 18 at 9:15 am at Dunwoody Park. The season kicks off June 1. Brotherhood Golf Tournament
The Brotherhood Golf Tournament will be held Monday, June 16 at Chateau Elan. The cost to play is $125 per golfer. Hole sponsorships are $1,250 and include four playing slots. All proceeds go to support the creation of a Brotherhood Scholarship Fund, which will offer grants and loans to Temple Emanu- El families to help offset the high cost of college. Gift Shop Hours: Judaica Shop hours have switched over to summer hours which are by appointment only. Help with all you needs is only one phone call or email away – please don’t hesitate to call or email!TE Sisterhood operates a well-stocked, high-quality Judaica Gift Shop as a service to the congregation and a way of raising funds for the synagogue. The shop offers a wide range of items to enhance Jewish holiday celebrations, life-cycle events, and daily life. Celebrate special holidays and Simchas all year round with items from our gift shop.

CARING COMMITTEE – Volunteers are needed to help as occasional substitute callers. It involves contacting congregants to offer assistance while they are experiencing life cycle events.
