Time for a change? Time to change Prayer books that is… In August, Temple Emanu-El will begin using Mishkan Tefillah, the new Prayer book of the Reform movement. During our summer casual Shabbat Services, we will be discussing and studying the new Prayer book and ways that its use will enhance our spiritual experience. Each week’s lesson will be made available, in shortened form, on our website. Last Shabbat’s topic, “Just the Facts: How Can We Use This New Book for Spiritual Growth?” will be available online Thursday, July 3rd.Temple Office Volunteer

Jazzercise at Temple Emanu-El

The Judaica Shop has switched over to summer hours which are by appointment only.TE Sisterhood operates a well-stocked, high-quality Judaica Gift Shop as a service to the congregation and a way of raising funds for the synagogue. The shop offers a wide range of items to enhance Jewish holiday celebrations, life-cycle events, and daily life. Celebrate special holidays and Simchas all year round with items from our gift shop.

Caring Committee
The Caring Committee Needs YouVolunteers are needed for our Bikkur Cholim (Visiting) Committee, Food Delivery Committee, House Guarding Committee, as well as Calling Committee as substitute callers. All of these committees assist our congregants while they are experiencing life cycle events. This Mitzvah is very much appreciated by our congregants. If you are interested in any of these committees, please call Ann Fine at 770-4547-2786 or Gerri Penn at 770-457-2474. We can explain what it entails to be a member of any of these committees.
Choir
Adult Choir - Do you enjoy singing in a group? If yes, we invite you to join the Temple Emanu-El Adult Choir. We sing in different musical styles and offer incredible opportunities for friendship. On Sunday, July 13, 5-7PM, at the Breman Museum – Turning the End of Times into the Best of Times – Apocalypse How – Book talk and signing with Rob Kutner. This event is sure to be a sellout so RSVP early, by July 9th to 404-870-7684 or www.breman.org/proevents/books. Admission is $18; $10 for members. There is a special deal for non-members who join The Breman now through July 13.The Amit Program is looking for individuals who love working with young children and who have a little extra time on their hands. The Jewish community of Atlanta is very fortunate to have so many preschools that are accepting of children with special needs. However, many of these children can only attend the preschools if they are accompanied by a shadow. A shadow is an individual who spends the day with the child in the classroom helping them to interact with the other children and participate in all activities.

Tisha B’Av
Temple Emanu-El, Temple Sinai, The Temple, and Temple Beth TikvahPresent: A Morning of Prayer, Study, and Reflection. For the first time, these synagogues will host a joint Tisha B’Av Service and study session on Sunday, August 10, 2008, 10:00AM - 12:00PM. There is no charge for this special commemoration.
