Passover Seder

The Temple Emanu-El Chametz Drive is going on now through April 16th. Bring non-perishable, non-Passover food items (oatmeal, grains, pasta, cereal, etc) to the temple administrative entrance. The mitzvah of readying our homes for Passover can lead us to care for those more in need.Journey to Passover

Friday, April 11:
- 8:00 PM – Shabbat Service. Services will include a Marriage Reconsecration ceremony for those celebrating an anniversary of a multiple of five.

Focus Groups
Celebrating the past and looking towards the future…As Temple Emanu-El celebrates its 30th birthday, this is the perfect opportunity to reflect upon where we have been and where we will go into the future. We invite you to participate in one of the many focus groups being conducted at Temple Emanu-El.
Help us discover:
- how we are strongest as a congregation
- ways that we can strengthen our community
- how to effectively provide interesting programs and activities
- how to best allocate our resources
- our ritual behaviors and standards
Your input is vital and enables us to continue to shape the congregation so that we all have a voice in our strategic planning process.

Jazzercise at Temple Emanu-El

Journey to Passover Book Fair
It’s a One for Me, One for You Book Sale - sponsored by And Thou Shall Read, the new Jewish book dealer for Atlanta. There will be lots of Passover book choices for kids and adults, as well as Haggadot for your Pesach shopping.Make sure you stop by the table to purchase a book for Temple Emanu-El…and some for yourself, too as we work in partnership to grow our library!

What Does Judaism Say About...
Thursday, April 17 at 7:30 PM -- “What Does Judaism Say about … The Last Supper and Passover Seder?” Was that matzoh on the table where Jesus and his disciples ate dinner for the last time? Were they reading from their Haggadahs? Did they recite the four questions, and review the 10 plagues God brought to the Egyptians? Upcoming Events:
Women's Study Group is holding a "special session" on Thursday, May 15th. We will celebrate Israel's Independence Day by enjoying a lavish mid-Eastern lunch and Rabbi Schwartz will have a special engrossing topic. The time is 12:00 - 1:30 PM as usual. The cost for lunch is only $5. If you plan to attend the May meeting, we are asking for RSVPs. Make your reservation by sending Susan Wittenstein a check (made out to TE) at 1146 Bordeau Court, Dunwoody, GA 30338 or bring it to the April meeting.

Brotherhood
Softball season is just around the corner. Temple Emanu-El will be fielding two teams again this year. Practices begin April 20th, and the season kicks off June 1. If you are interested in participating, contact Gil Bubis (gbubis@register-akers.com) or Larry Wolfson (larrywolfson@bellsouth.net).MENS DISCUSSION GROUP - For the month of April we will meet on Thursday, April 24 at 7:30 PM. The topic will be "The Intersection of Religion and Politics at the Synagogue Door; The Jewish Perspective on Recent Events."
The Brotherhood Golf Tournament will be held Monday, June 9 at Chateau Elan. The cost to play is $125 per golfer. Hole sponsorships are $1,250 and include four playing slots. All proceeds go to support the creation of a Brotherhood Scholarship Fund, which will offer grants and loans to Temple Emanu-El families to help offset the high cost of college. Tee-off is at 1:00 PM. Lunch and dinner will be provided. To register, or for more information, contact Sandy Zusmann at zusmann1@mindspring.com.
Judaica Shop
The Judaica Shop will be open on Sunday, April 13th from 9:15 AM – 5:30 PM. Come early for some last minute Passover shopping with your gift certificates. (Early Bird Gift Certificates will be available for pick up in the Judaica Shop onApril 13th.) Complimentary snacks will be available from 12 – 5 PM. Invite your family, friends and neighbors.

It is a Tree of Life…and you can be part of it. Located near the memorial wall, it shines in honor of Simchas and each leaf helps Sisterhood. Order forms for leaves and rocks are available in the main office. Cost per leaf is $118 and rocks are $180.
Temple Emanu-El Caring Committee
CARING COMMITTEE – Volunteers are needed to help as occasional substitute callers. It involves contacting congregants to offer assistance while they are experiencing life cycle events.
