30th Anniversary Shabbat Celebration Service
A CD of the 30th Anniversary Shabbat Celebration Service held on Friday, March 14th, is now available for purchase for $15.95. Order forms are located in the lobby and the main office. Focus Groups
Celebrating the past and looking towards the future…As Temple Emanu-El celebrates its 30th birthday, this is the perfect opportunity to reflect upon where we have been and where we will go into the future. We invite you to participate in one of the many focus groups being conducted at Temple Emanu-El.
Help us discover:
- how we are strongest as a congregation
- ways that we can strengthen our community
- how to effectively provide interesting programs and activities
- how to best allocate our resources
- our ritual behaviors and standards
Your input is vital and enables us to continue to shape the congregation so that we all have a voice in our strategic planning process.
All we need now is YOU.

On Friday, May 9th, during Shabbat Services, religious school students will be recognized for their work and accomplishments in Hebrew. We are very proud of all our award recipients and look forward to presenting them with their Kippot. Special recognitions will take place for 7th Graders and teachers. Cans for Cookies – Monday, May 5 from 4:45pm-7pm - this Social Action project will benefit the Community Action Center in Sandy Springs. Women's Study Group is holding a "special session" on Thursday, May 15th. We will celebrate Israel's Independence Day by enjoying a lavish Mediterranean lunch and Rabbi Schwartz will have a special engrossing topic. The time is 12:00 - 1:30 PM as usual. We are asking for a $5 contribution/person for the lunch. If you plan to attend the May meeting and purchase lunch, please RSVP by Tuesday, May 8th in order for the caterer to have an accurate count. Make your reservation by sending Susan Wittenstein a check (made out to TE) or send by mail to 1146 Bordeau Court, Dunwoody, GA 30338. You are welcome to bring your own lunch. Softball season is just around the corner. Temple Emanu-El will be fielding two teams again this year. Practice this Sunday, May 4th, is at 9:15 am at Dunwoody Park. The season kicks off June 1. CARING COMMITTEE – Volunteers are needed to help as occasional substitute callers. It involves contacting congregants to offer assistance while they are experiencing life cycle events. 43rd Annual Atlanta Jewish Community Observance of Yom HaShoah, Sunday, May 4th at 10:30 AM at the Memorial to the Six Million at Greenwood Cemetery. There will be free bus transportation at 9:30 AM from David Academy Middle School, The Epstein School and Torah Day School. A volunteer educator from The William Breman Jewish Heritage Museum will be on each bus along and a short video with details about the unique history and design of the Memorial will be shown during the bus ride. The suggested age is 4th Grade and up. Seating is limited.
