TE Sisterhood operates a well-stocked, high-quality Judaica Gift Shop as a service to the congregation and a way of raising funds for the synagogue. The Caring Committee Needs You
Volunteers are needed for our Bikkur Cholim (Visiting) Committee, Food Delivery Committee, House Guarding Committee, as well as Calling Committee as substitute callers. All of these committees assist our congregants while they are experiencing life cycle events. This Mitzvah is very much appreciated by our congregants. If you are interested in any of these committees, please call Ann Fine at 770-4547-2786 or Gerri Penn at 770-457-2474. We can explain what it entails to be a member of any of these committees.

The Amit Program will sponsor an educational conference, along with event sponsors Interfaith Disability Connection (IDC), the Shepherd Center and First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta on Sunday, August 3 at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Georgia. “That All My Worship – Beyond the Ramp” will focus on how religious communities can make their services and programs more accessible to those with disabilities. Topics will go beyond eliminating physical barriers and discuss creating services and programs in which all members can easily participate. The program will feature a box lunch, speakers and breakout sessions. The fee for the conference is $25.00, or $5.00 for people with disabilities and their family members. The event will be led by Rabbi Lynne Landsberg, Reverend Al Mead, Imam Furqan Muhammad and Ginny Thornburgh; four leaders in religion and disability education. Leaders in religious communities and disability communities, advocates and friends are invited to take part in this conference on religion, acceptance, and inclusion. Attendees will gain the knowledge, resources and motivation to make positive changes in their religious communities. On Wednesday, August 20th, 10:00AM-Noon, Pathways will hold a special event: Moms & Tots at “The Coffee Park”, A Unique Café & Playspace in East Cobb. There will be complimentary coffee & sweets – while your children enjoy the supervised Indoor Playground (ages 9 months to 5 years.) Are YOU raising Jewish children? (and one partner isn’t Jewish?) Don’t do it alone! Pathways is here to help with FREE educational programs and support for women raising Jewish children within the context of an interfaith marriage.
Now registering for “The Mothers Circle”, designed specifically for women of other religious backgrounds and “Bridge to the Home” open to all moms, Jewish or not. Both feature an eight-month introductory course, meeting twice a month, in sites throughout greater Atlanta. We offer weekday morning and Sunday classes. Learn about great resources for creating a vibrant Jewish home, enjoy lively discussion with other women, and participate in fun family events. Classes begin in September, with limited space in each group.

Prayer Books
Time for a change? Time to change Prayer books that is…In August, Temple Emanu-El will begin using Mishkan Tefillah, the new Prayer book of the Reform movement. During our summer casual Shabbat Services, we will be discussing and studying the new Prayer book and ways that its use will enhance our spiritual experience. Each week’s lesson will be made available, in shortened form, on our website.Office Volunteer
