30th Anniversary Shabbat Service
PLAN TO ATTEND!Friday, March 14 at 8:00 PM – Temple Emanu-El will hold a special 3oth Anniversary Shabbat Service featuring original music composed by special guest, Cantor Robbie Solomon, internationally known composer of Jewish songs and choral works. Cantor Benjamin Adler along with Cantor Robbie Solomon, the Temple choir and musicians from our congregation will participate in this special service.

NOTE: By now you should have received your Temple Emanu-El 2007 year-end statement. It has recently come to our attention that due to a systemic error, High Holiday tickets were classified as non-tax deductible. Please note when filing your income tax return, that any separately purchased High Holiday ticket(s) are in fact tax deductible. Have you ever wanted to dance like the stars?Well now is your chance to sign up for a 4 week dance lesson 1 hour a week. For your convenience, First Dance Productions of Atlanta will be coming to Temple Emanu-El on Sundays, March 2, March 9 and March 16 at 11:15 am-12:10 pm. Shalom Baby Program
Be the First to Greet the Future of Atlanta’s Jewish Community. Shalom Baby is looking for volunteers who speak with a smile, love our community, and love babies. Temple Emanu-El along with The Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta, and Jewish community organizations have teamed up to launch a new program, Shalom Baby.This project will extend a hand of friendship to young Jewish families who have recently experienced the birth or adoption of a child. Volunteers will deliver a beautiful gift bag to the new family also passing along wisdom and community resources. All volunteers will attend a brief training and may choose the number and locations of visits. The initial training session is set for Wednesday, February 27 from 7:00-8:00pm at the MJCCA. Will you be hungry on March 2nd?? Thankfully the answer to that question is probably no. Currently 14.4% of all Georgians live at or below the poverty level. Please participate in the annual Hunger Walk Sunday, March 2nd at Turner field. Registration begins at noon. The 5K Fun Run/Walk begins at 2:30. Even if you're not pre-registered to be on the Temple Emanu-El Walking team, wear a light blue t-shirt, and meet us at the Federation tent at 2:15 so we can start the walk together! Questions? Calling all 5th graders! Immediately after family services on March 7, we will have a special 5th Grade Temple Inn. It will include an art activity, games, a move and a sleep over. You will need to bring your sleeping bag, pillow, PJs and toothbrush. Men’s Discussion Group Meeting on Thursday, February 28th at 7:30 PM at Temple Emanu-El. Eugene Schoenfeld has accepted the invitation of George Jordan to speak at our meeting. His subject: “Is Tolerance Adequate to bring Peace Between Religions?” He will speak for about an hour followed by questions and answers.BROTHERHOOD NIGHT AT THE THRASHERS - Join Brotherhood at Phillips Arena on Thursday, March 13 as the Thrashers host the Calgary Flames. Social Action Community
Temple Emanu-El Social Action Committee - We need your help! Have you ever wondered where your next meal will come from? Have you thought about how it would feel to sleep in frigid temperatures? People without homes experience this everyday – we at Temple Emanu-El do not. Please donate Kroger, Publix, Wal-Mart, & Target gift cards in denominations of $10 or more to help the families of the Interfaith Outreach Home. The Interfaith Outreach Home is a facility that helps homeless families get back on their feet during their year long program. The cards will help buy groceries, cleaning supplies, school supplies, and many other necessary household items.
